Research And Desire LockBox Review

Introduction
The LockBox by Research And Desire is a 3D-printed box. Its purpose is to securely store small keys that protect something precious to you.
Presentation
The LockBox consists of two 3D-printed parts of very good quality. These two elements fit together by sliding one into the other. The design allows for multiple keys of varying sizes, including those for chastity cages or other restraint devices, making it a versatile accessory for users in short- or long-term locking situations.
Technical Specifications
The top part integrates all the electronics, namely:
A USB-C charging port A color screen with very good resolution Three buttons: previous, a selection wheel, and validate A secure locking mechanism with a removable emergency panel in case of emergency (requires purchasing a replacement part if used) A Wi-Fi module for remote connection A battery offering approximately 24 hours of battery life (although some users report slightly longer battery life with moderate use)
The LockBox is also designed to be worn daily, making it ideal for users in prolonged locking or for bondage sessions.
Dimensions
Width: 6 cm Length: 12 cm
- Height: 4.5 cm
Access to a dashboard allows you to control the device remotely. Yes, everything is centralized here!
The LockBox is also compatible with keys of different sizes, including those for the largest chastity cages, thanks to its generous interior space.

Getting Started
Getting started is particularly simple: a QR code to scan when starting up to configure the Wi-Fi, followed by a code generated on the screen to pair the device with the online dashboard. However, some users point out that there may be a slight learning curve to fully master the dashboard's features.
Direct configuration on the LockBox allows you to set a duration and start a timer. However, the dashboard offers many more possibilities:
Setting up sessions with multiple options, including random durations to add suspense Activating or deactivating emergency opening, with the ability to completely disable this feature (although this requires physical intervention in an emergency) Displaying or hiding the timer visible to add mystery to the session Randomly choosing the duration within a defined range Adding a keyholder (notified in case of opening for hygiene or emergency reasons), with the ability to configure multiple keyholders Automatic notifications sent to the keyholder each time the LockBox is locked or unlocked
The system also allows you to schedule temporary breaks for practical reasons, such as sports activities or situations where wearing a cage might be uncomfortable or dangerous. These breaks can be controlled remotely by the keyholder.
Integration with Chaster is currently under development. A session created on Chaster will automatically synchronize with the dashboard, offering centralized management of locks.
A premium version exists, although its advantages are not clearly detailed. The developers are working on adding new features, such as access to an API reserved for premium subscribers, as well as improvements to facilitate use on the go.
Key Features (extracted from the website and user feedback)
Real-time status: Track the status of your device (locked, unlocked, paused, etc.). Public vote: Let the online community decide your fate, with a maximum duration to avoid accidental prolonged locks. Customizable lock durations: Define ranges from 30 seconds to 1000 years, with the ability to choose random durations in a predefined range. Optional emergency stop: End a session quickly or disable this feature (at the risk of having to resort to physical intervention in an emergency). Hide remaining time: Disable the countdown to add suspense. Random duration: Flip a coin to determine how long you will remain locked. Automatic notifications: The keyholder is notified each time the LockBox's status changes. Controlled breaks: Possibility of scheduling temporary unlocks for hygiene or comfort reasons, with remote validation.
Strengths
A compact and practical size, ideal for daily use or on the go. Effective remote control, with an intuitive dashboard once you get the hang of it. A removable emergency opening (to be activated with caution!), with the ability to disable this feature to enhance security. Future integration with Chaster, for centralized management of sessions. Compatibility with multiple keys, including those for the largest chastity cages. A community ecosystem for users without a partner, with public votes and online interactions. The possibility of hiding the remaining time to add mystery and suspense.
Weaknesses
A high price, including shipping costs and import taxes, which can represent a significant investment. Limited battery life (short battery life, although some users report slightly longer battery life with moderate use). Access to the API reserved for premium subscribers, which may limit some advanced features for non-premium users. Lack of automatic key presence detection after a pause, which could theoretically allow a cheating attempt (although this depends on the trust between the parties). The need for an internet connection to control the settings remotely, which can complicate its use on the go or in areas without network coverage.
Verdict
This is an excellent box that I will use primarily. It perfectly fulfills its functions and its size allows it to accommodate all kinds of keys. The device proves to be very pleasant to use, whether locally or remotely, and even without a partner, an online community is ready to offer you intense experiences.
Although there is a slight learning curve to master all the features of the dashboard, once this step is passed, the LockBox becomes a powerful and versatile tool. Its integration with Chaster and its remote control options make it an ideal choice for users looking to explore various locking dynamics, whether they are solitary or shared.
The only downside is its high price and the need for an internet connection for some features, but these drawbacks are largely offset by its advantages.
